About Nick P. Patras, Ph.D., LPC-S, NCC

Hello, I’m Dr. Nick Patras. I am a licensed professional counselor, supervisor for LPC-Associates, National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Processing (EMDR) trained clinician. I have advanced training in couple’s therapy including Level 1 and Level 2 Gottman Method Couples therapy. I have over 14 years of experience working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, and career-focused concerns. I gained my clinical experience in inpatient, community clinic, and university counseling center settings.

I grew up in rural Northeast Texas and understand the challenges and demands of rural life. I actively engage with the local communities through outreach initiatives, workshops, and partnerships with other organizations. We participate in community events, such a s health fairs and wellness seminars, to raise awareness about mental health and reduce stigma.

For business entrepreneurs, I bring the experience of 25 years if progressively successful independent business ownership and client development to the table. I had a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communication from St. Edward’s University in Austin, a Master of Science degree in Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Counseling from Texas A&M University-Commerce. I am a proud U.S. Army  Veteran and a former first responder.
